I often I miss some good shots the first time I sort a shoot, but I’m not sure how I could have missed these!

Mom sent me this recent interview with Ekhart concerning his thoughts on love and relationships. I dig it.

“Whenever you accept what is, something deeper emerges then what is. So, you can be trapped in the most painful dilemma, external or internal, the most painful feelings or situation, and the moment you accept what is, you go beyond it, you transcend it.

Even if you feel hatred, the moment you accept that this is what you feel, you transcend it. It may still be there, but suddenly you are at a deeper place where it doesn’t matter that much anymore.”

It’s not hatred I’ve been dealing with, thankfully, but the point is nonetheless taken. Especially when coupled with this:

“What is conventionally called “love” is an ego strategy to avoid surrender. You are looking to someone to give you that which can only come to you in the state of surrender. The ego uses that person as a substitute to avoid having to surrender.

The Spanish language is the most honest in this respect. It uses the same verb, te quiero, for “I love you” and “I want you.” To the ego, loving and wanting are the same, whereas true love has no wanting in it, no desire to possess or for your partner to change. “

John Gruber clearly explains why RIM (Blackberry maker), and every other cell phone company, can not compete with Apple.

“There is marketing. There most certainly is design. But at the core of this market — by which I mean the market for handheld multitasking web-surfing networked-everywhere “phones” which are really computers — is engineering.

Apple is the best handheld computer engineering company in the world today, hands down. They’re also the best handheld computer user experience design company. And they’re not sharing.”

MELISSLISSLISS pops one of Billy’s finest songs and its video. I so remember watching it on MTV, and completely not understanding any of it… but it was just as magical.

“Many errors, of a truth, consist merely in the application of the wrong names of things.”

Our everyday usage of electricity is a very recent development, and one aspect of this newness is that very few of us actually understand electricity.

The linked website offers the clearest, most direct understanding I have ever read. I now understand exactly what electrons are, how they flow, and how we put them to work.

If you don’t have the time to read it all right now, please consider bookmarking the site and read it later; it truly is useful and practical knowledge considering just how much we depend on electricity.
